Top Tips to Consider When Getting Your Website Developed
In this video Brian Saviano with Trackable Results reveals insider secrets to consider when getting a new website. Many people put off getting a website out of fears of the time it will take to get a new look and get their message out. The good news is, is that it doesn't have to be difficult if you are working with the right team. It is always a good idea to make sure the team you hire has experience working in your line of work. This helps them be more sympathetic to their needs and helps convert potential prospects into longstanding clients. It is also important to have the right content to give your site the right feel. It is also a great idea to work with a web developer who has a professional photographer to take custom images. This will personalize your website and give it a good feel. Where Does All The Traffic Go?
It happens all the time, whether it be on a cell phone, mobile tablet, or home computer, someone has a need and does a search right from their mobile phone. What they find, determines who will most likely get a call first. There are three areas for traffic to click on, on a typical Google search query, paid advertising, Google My Business directory and organic search results.
By looking at the graph below, you can see that the majority of clicks for a local business come from Google's local directory.
The ironic part about this, is it seems as the majority of clicks come from the Google Places or Maps directory. This is a free service provided by Google and allows local businesses to list their companies in there free of charge.
So if there are so many clicks here, why is Google giving away their prime real estate?
Well the answer is, is that they reduced the number of businesses that showed up in the search results from 7 down to 3, making it more competitive for business owners to show up here. This means the top 3 will get the overwhelming majority of the clicks.
But there are ways to position your company there. The first is by making sure your listing is completely filled out, pictures in every category, text filled out, name, address, phone number and website are all accurate across the board, filled with YouTube videos and topped with multiple and consistent five star reviews. Think of it this way. The more effort, Google sees in setting up your listing and maintaining your reputation, the more likely Google is to display your listing because remember the goal of Google is to make the user experience as pleasant as possible.
So what shows up on your places page? How many reviews do you have? Are they all positive, negative or a mixture. You should be trying to position your business as a five star provider. Google looks at the consistency of the ratings but also looks for continuous and steady reviews. So if you have a few customers that left you reviews in one month and neglected to get any new reviews, they may see your business as inactive and may penalize your listing by not displaying it as often in the search results.
There are other tricks to optimize your business listing so you can improve your chances of showing up more frequently in their local directory. For more information on how to get your business to optimize your Google listings, contact Trackable Results for a free consultation or call 630-326-5556.

What the New Google Penguin Updates Mean to Your Business
Recently Google just announced their changes to Penguin 4.0 update. For the local business owner, there are primarily two areas that apply to you. The first is Spam Filters. So assume you added some spun content and it read like a robot wrote it and you noticed droppings in your site rankings. Once you noticed the adverse effect on your rankings, you can go in an rewrite the article and you no longer have to wait for Google to re-crawl your site.
With the new updates in Penguin 4.0, you can now see updates real time in the search results. This is actually a nice feature because with this new real time update, users no longer have to wait for changes to find out the effects of their websites. So you can instantly see results rather than having to wait.
The second thing that Google is saying about this update is that they will no longer be adding penalties site wide. So if there is a page that is being penalized, Google is saying they will no longer penalize the whole site and just specifically the page in question.
We at Trackable Results feel that both of these changes are more beneficial to local businesses as they will no longer have to wait to see what kind of impact recent changes made to their website and they don't have to worry about their whole site being penalized. All in all, these changes will help website developers to get instant gratification as to whether changes made had a positive or negative impact on their rankings.

What New Changes in Google Mean to Your Business
The front page of Google consists of 3 parts, paid ads, the organic search results and Google My Business, Google 7 Pack or Google Places. If you are paying for traffic, you already know about false clicks and how the fees can add up quickly. Trying to rank in the major search engines is can be very difficult. Luckily for local businesses owners, the majority of clicks and calls come from the Google Places section.
The Google 7 Pack is Google's free directory that enables business owners information to be displayed on the front page of Google. Previously, Google displayed up to 7 local businesses in the local search results in the local directory section. Since Google is getting in the local business arena, they have cut the number of listings down to 3 from 7 . This means it is now even harder to get listed on the front page of Google and if the number of calls dropped down over the last few weeks, this is why.
But there three are ways to increase Google's preference to display your business. First is the accuracy and completeness of your profile. If your profile is not claimed or not completed, your business will not display accurately.
The second factor Google uses to rank local businesses in their local directory is the number of listing citations featured in the major local directory sites. Basically the more the merrier. But you must be careful that all of the listings are filled out exactly the same. These citations create back links to your site which help improve your website optimization.
Most likely the answer is no and this is the same thought process that goes through consumers heads each time they make a purchasing decision or inquire about a product or service. The bottom line is that no one wants to have a bad experience and therefore Google gives priority to businesses with the best reviews.
So if you want your business to show up more in the search results and you want to get more calls coming in to your business, make sure you are constantly monitoring these factors. If you would like to learn more about getting your business to top of Google, click here or go to www.IncreaseMyReviews.com
As you can see, the local directory gets the overwhelming majority of traffic.
